Yes with the start of the New Year had great plans to post here regularly. Looks like Mr Murphy had other ideas but we will get there.
Yes We definitely will OBG but the damn Doctor’s visits suck big time.
After planning to post here much more regularly got interrupted with taking Maude to the docs. There was a problem with her blood counts so we went to go see a new doc. Now learning about Bone Marrow and Cat scans so the week has been a bit long.
Least we should have answers by next week and then I can talk a lot more.
That is true so once we find out exactly what is going on here we can then get back to writing more regularly.
Well at least we are learning new things. Unfortunately we weren’t really interested in learning about things like platelets, CBC, blood counts and all of those things that scare the hell out of us.
So we will probably not be as regular here over the next week or so as we planned.

It may be a new year but on this blog it is time to turn the clock back and go back to our roots.
Many years ago this blog started out as a conversation with the good part of me (The Old Bald Guy) and the other side of me (The Evil Twin).
Over the last three years this blog has gotten away from that and it is time to get back to it if only for my mental health. At least that is what I am thinking.
You don’t think OBG and that is why I need to be back. Good lord it feels great to be able to spew venom once again. About damn time we got back to what we do best.
So the evil one will get to give his view point and I’ll continue to give mine.
Look for the content to come much more regularly as the evil one has a lot of venom to spew on a variety of topics and now that he has been unleashed again you can be sure that I may have a hard time keeping him under control.
You bet your sweet bippy I am ready to start going off a couple times a week and there will be hell to pay if you try to keep me quiet again. It is a holiday though so I will wait for Monday but only til then.

If you use WordPress blogs you really need to consider WP Syndicator.One of the best ways to get better search engine rankings is through creating back links. WP Syndicator is a WordPress plugin that will do that for you automatically.
It takes advantage of a variety of sites like Blogger, Tumblr, Multiply and 12 others. Every time you post to your blog it creates those 15 posts for you automatically.
This creates 15 back links to your blog each time you post. The nice part is the plugin allows you to create the anchor text for each post that gets distributed.
Not only do you get the links but they are deep links to the interior posts that created them.
Now you do need to take the time to set up the accounts for each of the services. Here is where the sales letter is a bit optimistic. It mentions a 10 minute set up, 5 if you already have the accounts set up.
Not realistic in my opinion but it is a one time effort and took me about 45 minutes to create all the accounts and add them into the settings. That was the only fault I found with WP Syndicator though.
Once it is set up it does a great job of adding back links and I have seen an increase in the traffic from both some of the automatically created posts but more from higher rankings in the search engines.
Definitely a rarity, a paid WordPress plugin that I find to be a must have for any serious blogger.

There is a downside to this product. You will need to change. Change is always uncomfortable. If you start applying these techniques you will become more efficient and get more done in less time.
You will need to make them become a part of your habits. I have applied them and increased my productivity many times over. I do back track though.
If you grab Time Management On Crack , I strongly recommend you review it every couple of months. Even after two years of applying this, every review of it, adds to what I can get done. After each review more of it becomes habit.
If you are willing to work at it (I know using that dirty 4 letter word here) you will get many times your investment back. It won’t work though if you just print it up and try to absorb it by putting it under your pillow. It will take a bit of conscious effort and it will not be comfortable to apply it.

Now I like WordPress and use it for almost everything so when I first saw WP Twin I grabbed it immediately. It is an easy way to clone any WordPress blog.
You can upload a single file to your server and run a single command and have a complete copy of your blog. No need to go into phpMyAdmin to download a data base or pull a copy of all of your files from your server.
To replace the blog you only need to upload the file and one file to your server and run a single command.
Now there are cheaper alternatives out there. I recently checked out a “10 minute cloner” but you needed to understand how to copy data bases and import data bases to use it. Even being comfortable doing those things it took a lot longer and required more skills.
Using WP Twin I have reduced the time to add a new blog to a couple minutes because I created a base install with all of the plugins I use and all of the settings each plugin uses.
It allows me to use Fantastico which I never would use because of the flaws inherent in it from a security stand point and have all of the corrections I make to any Fantastico install updated when I clone my install.
This saves me a ton of time and keeps my blogs secure.
This is a perfect tool for anyone that flips blogs to be able to move the whole blog to the new owner in a couple minutes instead of spending the better part of an hour to do it.
There is an add on available that will automatically backup your blog daily so that if you do get hacked you can remove all of it and be back to normal in a few minutes.
I have even used it to create product packages that I can install for the buyer in a couple minutes.
This is a must have for anyone that is flipping blogs or adding blogs regularly to be able to save time which is our most important asset.

Keyword research is one of the keys to getting good rankings from the search engines. Market Samurai is perfect for that but it does a lot more.
If all you could do with Market Samurai is keyword research it would be okay but not worth the price. It has some great sorting functions that allow you to find good keywords but that can be done using the Google External research tool for free without much extra effort.
The power of Market Samurai is the number of other features.
The competition module is well worth the price. Being able to see how competitive your keyword will be is invaluable. Knowing quickly what the top 10 current results have done to get there is nice.
The training videos they have at Market Samurai will show you exactly how to use this information in creating your keyword list.
Next is the content module. Being able to search for content can be a great time saver. They pull in results from article directories, YouTube, Flcikr, Scribd documents, Google News, Yahoo News, Yahoo Answers and blogs. This will save you a huge amount of time on researching new topics.
Once you have found a good niche you can use the domains section to find both new domains and aged domains that are for sale that fit your niche.
There si the ability to create and publish content from Market Samurai but that is not a feature that I use so I can’t comment on how well it works.
Finally once you start working in the niche you can use Market Samurai to keep track of your ranking. If you are targeting more than one or two keywords this is an invaluable tool.
Market Samurai is much more than just a keyword research tool and will save you a lot of time and effort in multiple ways.
Definitely a must have tool for any content marketer in my opinion.

Now I use more than one web host because I may be a paranoid old bald guy. There are certain services like web hosting and autoresponders that I feel it pays to be spread across more than one. It does not matter how good a web host is you are dealing with computer parts with servers. Sometimes they will break. Not a reflection on any web host but when you are using computers sometimes they just quit on you usually at the worst possible time.
So being able to get help is key and the first thing I look at in any web host.
Host Gator hits on all 3 points and the other big thing is that it is easy to get what you need right now yet expand as you need it.
You can start for as little as $4.95 a month for just one domain and expand upwards to your own dedicated server.
There is some great value in their reseller packages which start at just $24.95 a month.

All in all on a scale of one to five I give Host Gator a five. That is why it is my highest recommended web host.
